Loette Tablet is a combination of Levonorgestrel 100mcg and Ethinyl Estradiol 20mcg. It is used for oral contraception (prevention of pregnancy). It is also used for the treatment of moderate acne vulgaris in adult patients who desire oral contraception. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients yet to achieve menarche (the first occurrence of menstruation).

Both drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol are synthetic female sexual hormones. They reduce the chances of pregnancy by suppressing the release of gonadotrophic hormones that trigger ovulation. They also reduce the thickness of inner lining of the uterus which makes it not suitable for the foetus to implant and grow and alters the thickness of cervical mucus which makes it difficult for the sperm to travel inside the uterus.
